Laser removal has been the Gold Standard for many years. The new generation of Q-Switched lasers are the world's most advanced and effective lasers for tattoo removal. Filtering the laser pulses through Ruby and Sapphire changes the wavelength of the light to fade and remove more pigments.

The laser emits intense and extremely short pulses of light, which are directed onto the skin. The laser pulses pass harmlessly through the skin and are absorbed by the ink particles, reducing them into really small particles, which are then absorbed by the body, causing the tattoo to fade away.
Unlike other methods of tattoo removal, the skin is not cut or burnt so the risk of scarring is much less. Any scarring caused is usually during the weeks after treatment if the area is not looked after properly. Picking at scabs during healing can cause scarring to occur.

Tattoo removal doesn't happen overnight. Amateur tattoos made with indian ink are fairly easy to remove and require less treatment sessions than professional tattoos. The number of treatment sessions needed can be from 3 to 14 and your skin needs to be rested for between 4 and 8 weeks between treatments.
The easiest colours to remove are red, blue, black and brown. Some white pigments can change colour when treated, because of oxidation and some colours don't go away completely, but can fade to make them less noticable. There is a charge for the initial consultation so that we can do an assessment and a 'patch test' to see if this treatment is suitable for you.

Please be aware that every tattoo is unique.
Everybody has different skin and all tattooists have different techniques. Tattoo inks can be made with a number of different pigments, with new ones being developed all the time. Nobody really knows what is in tattoo ink, so it's hard to estimate exactly how long each treatment will take, or how many treatments will be needed. We do make a pretty good guess and will keep you informed along the way.
